C3i Returns Energized from BIO International Convention in San Diego
The C3i team recently wrapped up a busy week at the BIO International Convention in San Diego, where renewed investment, artificial intelligence, and cross-border collaboration set the tone for biotech in the year ahead.
Three themes stood out on the show floor:
A rebounding market. Investment is picking up across the biotech ecosystem, and with it, real momentum around new partnerships and opportunities.
AI at the center of the conversation. From AI-enhanced drug discovery to smarter testing and lab automation, the discussion has firmly shifted from “what if” to “what’s next” with genuine potential to accelerate precision medicine development.
A return to collaboration. This year brought a refreshing openness to cross-border partnerships, a reminder that the most impactful breakthroughs in life sciences rarely happen in silos.
For a CDMO built around precision medicine, companion diagnostics, and cell & gene therapy, these trends hit close to home.
The team left San Diego energized and full of new connections. C3i extends its sincere thanks to Investissement Québec and everyone who stopped by the Québec Pavilion to connect.
C3i was on the ground at ISSCR 2026 in Montréal, where one message came through clearly: cell and gene therapy is moving from scientific promise to clinical and commercial reality. Academia and industry have taken meaningful steps forward this past year, and the momentum is building. A few takeaways stood out: Clinical progress is accelerating […]
For the first time in Canada, blood stem cells were genetically modified using CRISPR-Cas9 technology and subsequently injected into patients as part of a North American clinical trial targeting acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). Every graft used in this landmark study was produced in Montreal, at Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont, through the biomanufacturing expertise […]
Montreal CDMO expands beyond cell therapy manufacturing with companion diagnostics, therapeutic monitoring, and integrated patient support programs. What if every patient received a therapy tailored to their unique biology? That question, aligned with the aspirational promise of precision medicine, is now at the heart of what C3i does. The Montreal-based contract development and manufacturing organization […]
